About The Role

The UI/UX Designer at J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. is a vital member of the User Experience/Interface Design team, responsible for crafting engaging, intuitive, and accessible digital experiences. This full-time role offers the flexibility of remote work within the US and involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Development, and Development. The designer will be tasked with developing visual designs, prototypes, and user journey maps that enhance user satisfaction and streamline workflows. They will also play a key role in translating complex business requirements into functional and aesthetically appealing user interfaces, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards and modern UI/UX trends. The position requires a proactive individual who can manage projects from inception to completion while maintaining high standards of quality, usability, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, an Associate's Degree in a technology-related field combined with two years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in creating and implementing user interfaces for web and/or mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar applications.
  • Experience with front-end HTML/CSS development.
  • Knowledge of information architecture, storyboarding, and design processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret written plans and translate them into effective UI designs.
  • Ability to solve complex UI challenges related to web applications.
  • Experience developing test scenarios, cases, and procedures for web applications.
  • Excellent understanding of end-user experiences and interaction with digital interfaces.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research utilizing methods such as customer surveys, persona creation, user journey mapping, and empathy interviews to gather insights.
  • Design comprehensive user journey maps to visualize and improve the user experience across websites and applications.
  • Analyze user testing data to identify areas for UX improvement, resolve errors, and enhance user satisfaction and conversion rates.
  • Establish and maintain brand standards to ensure consistency across all UI design projects.
  • Ensure website accessibility by meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards, making digital content usable for all users, including those using assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development Architecture team to translate design requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
  • Create UI concepts, prototypes, and detailed documentation for both internal and external-facing web and mobile applications based on high-level business goals.
  • Work with stakeholders to convert high-level business requirements into detailed design specifications and functional prototypes.
  • Deliver comprehensive design assets that integrate seamlessly with existing development and QA processes.
  • Perform UI programming tasks, including coding for various applications where applicable.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance processes related to web and mobile application design, development, and maintenance.
  • Stay informed about emerging UI/UX trends and technologies to innovate and improve end-user experiences continually.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on usability, workflow, feature set, and overall aesthetic goals for digital products.
