About the Role

Data analysts play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights to support business decisions across various departments. This includes analyzing datasets, uncovering patterns, trends, and correlations, and delivering insights. Furthermore, the data analyst acts as a spear for data democratization and empowerment of business users in unlocking value from data themselves, by leading the discussions in data forums focusing on self-service analytics.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into data challenges: Understand the business challenge and see the connection with data. Ability to identify, clean and leverage data based on business challenges.
• Translates data challenges into insights and data storytelling in business language: Ability to build a larger business narrative around data and communicate the insights derived to a broader array of business stakeholders.
• Facilitates cross-team conversations on data and promotes data democratization: Facilitates conversations with business external to the product team to promote data democratization and increased usage of data for business decision making. Drives the data forums where business professionals working with data come together to discuss, learn and help each other improve ability to work with data.

Qualifications

The role has a balance between technical skills (like Python, SQL) that allow the data analyst to analyze data, but at the same time soft skills and business understanding that allow for explaining and connecting analysis to business context. Furthermore, possess the ability to facilitate data forums with a group of users.
