Project Operations Manager


Your Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Project Management – High Power Rectifiers (HPR) (systems with currents up to 120 kA and voltages up to 2000 V), you will ensure that customer requirements and project targets are fully met while providing reliable service throughout all project phases. The project portfolio ranges from emergency and maintenance activities, rapid response agreements (RRA), and control system upgrades to medium-sized rectifier installations.

The work model for this role is hybrid.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Project Management: Manage and execute small to medium-sized global projects (typically USD 50 k–2 M) from tender support and contract signing through on-site completion. Coordinate stakeholders, manage scope, schedule, and costs, and handle emergency cases effectively.
  • Customer Support: Manage maintenance contracts and rapid response agreements (RRA) as the primary customer contact, ensuring clear communication and high level of customer satisfaction. Work closely with sales to develop tailored quotations and service concepts that meet customer needs while ensuring quality, responsiveness, and long-term relationships.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Identify and mitigate project risks, support contract negotiations, and ensure full compliance with technical and commercial deliverables.
  • Global Readiness: Assess project risks, capture and share lessons learned, and travel internationally (approx. 5 % of working time) for site visits, customer meetings, and project assignments.
  • Assist senior Project Managers in the execution of large or complex projects, contributing technical insights and project management support as an Associate Project Manager.


Qualifications For The Role

  • Degree or vocational training in a technical field (e.g., electrician, electrical engineer, automation engineer), complemented by further education at HF or FH level (or equivalent).
  • Experience with medium- and low-voltage switchgear; knowledge of High Power Rectifiers.
  • Initial experience in engineering, project management, or field service, including responsibility for project scope, costs, schedules, and coordination of vendors, subcontractors, or factories.
  • A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, effective communication skills, and a motivated, professional approach with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Fluency in English and German (minimum B2 level); additional languages are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP), technical documentation, and material management.
