About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and talented early career Software Engineer to join our team in Owego, NY. In this role, you will be integral to supporting the entire product lifecycle of avionics subsystems, including design, development, verification, and certification of embedded mission software. Your responsibilities will involve translating customer requirements into technical solutions, defining software and hardware interfaces, and integrating safety-critical systems used in modern defense platforms. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop robust C/C++ applications, integrate algorithms, and support testing and validation activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission success by developing mission-critical software for defense applications, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and participating in certification processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field; or a Master’s degree with no professional experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with software development (preferred but not mandatory for candidates with advanced degrees)
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages
- Experience with full software lifecycle development, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance
- Knowledge of embedded software development and system integration
- Develop embedded software for mission and communication systems in compliance with safety and mission-critical standards
- Integrate algorithms and features into C/C++ applications to enhance system capabilities
- Design, develop, test, and debug software for avionics subsystems, ensuring reliability and safety
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define and refine software/hardware interfaces
- Support verification, validation, and performance testing activities to meet project requirements
- Participate in software reviews, code reviews, and certification activities to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Assist in documentation and error correction processes to maintain system integrity
