About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build robust financial infrastructure for our payment and credit platform. You'll architect and develop high-performance backend services that power card transactions, accounting systems, and user financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services in Go with focus on performance and reliability
• Own the end-to-end development of the financial ledger and accounting systems
• Build and maintain REST APIs consumed by mobile and web applications
• Implement real-time webhook processors for payment authorization flows
• Design database schemas and optimize queries for PostgreSQL
• Develop event-driven architectures for balance updates and notifications
• Own deployment pipelines and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
• Write comprehensive tests and ensure code quality through reviews
• Monitor production systems and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts and data models

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with 3+ years in Go
• Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and SQL optimization
• Experience with financial systems, payment processing, or high-precision accounting
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of distributed systems patterns and data consistency models
• Understanding of security best practices for financial applications
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Strong testing practices (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience leading technical projects or mentoring engineers in a team environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with double-entry bookkeeping or ledger systems
• Background in fintech, payments, or banking infrastructure
• Knowledge of event sourcing and CQRS patterns
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Understanding of compliance requirements (KYC, AML)
• Knowledge of blockchain technology, particularly Solana and EVM-based chains
