About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows server management, automation, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS. You will be responsible for managing Windows Server environments, automating AMI pipelines, ensuring security and compliance, and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to delivering secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, harden, and manage Windows Server 2022 (priority), 2019, and 2016 in AWS cloud environments.
- Build, maintain, and version automated Windows AMIs at scale, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Integrate observability tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, DataDog), endpoint protection, and compliance agents (Trend Micro) into image build processes.
- Apply CIS Benchmarks to harden Windows images, ensuring validation and adherence to industry standards.
- Package, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server within standard images, ensuring licensing, security, and performance best practices.
- Automate processes using tools such as Git, Ansible, CloudFormation, PowerShell, AWS SSM, and Packer; support AMI lifecycle management through automation.
- Document build processes, hardening procedures, and compliance checkpoints to support audits and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud solutions meet security, compliance, and operational standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- professional experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or related roles.
- Proven experience working with Windows Server environments on AWS cloud.
- Demonstrated expertise in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Strong knowledge of security hardening standards, particularly CIS Benchmarks.
- Experience with enterprise observability, endpoint protection, and compliance tools.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
