The Engineering organization at Medallia brings together applications that power a highly reliable global SaaS platform. We are constantly growing our footprint to meet and exceed the demands in multiple geographical regions. Most of our products operate in Kubernetes environments. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer skilled in Python to join our Provisioning and Deployment team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Python programming, extensive experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks, and a passion for optimizing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable automation solutions and systems that enhance productivity and efficiency. These systems are integral to our capability to advance our industry-leading SaaS platform.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks using Python
- Develop and implement new functionality that is essential for orchestrating the complex rollout of Medallia Experience Cloud releases into environments across multiple data centers and geographic regions
- Maintain and improve the systems used to deploy, scale, and operate databases dynamically
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide automation solutions
- Mentor and guide junior developers and engineers in best practices for Python and automation development
- Partner with the database administration team to understand requirements and use cases
- Ensure observability of our deployment stack to achieve and maintain proper alerting and monitoring
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of engineering experience working on distributed systems or operations engineering
- 5 years of Python experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Demonstrated understanding of software fundamentals, development processes, and best practices
- Demonstrated fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Experience operating Postgres databases
- Experience in Bash and Golang
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with a distributed team
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- System troubleshooting skills
