Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Vehicle & System simulation engineer, to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.
Responsibilities
Your main role and responsibility is to build and develop electric vehicle simulation models in combination with control system, perform simulations, analyze and communicate results. Vehicle simulation is a crucial part within the fast-growing area of electromobility. The simulations are used for powertrain dimensioning, vehicle energy optimization, battery life prediction, charging and control strategies, thermal management etc.
The main analysis tool to use is GSP (Global Simulation Platform) which is an internal developed Volvo software based on Matlab/Simulink.
Knowledge/Experience
The academic degree needed is M.Sc. or Ph.D. within the field of Mechatronic & Control, Electric power engineering and electromobility, Automotive Engineering or similar. As vehicle & system simulation engineer, you will work with both marine and industrial applications. You are a driven person and have excellent skills in simulation and analysis. You have good understanding of both full and hybrid electric drive systems and energy consumers. Skills and experiences in Matlab/Simulink are mandatory. Earlier experience of vehicle and control modelling is merited. Battery and FuelCell competences are also valuable.
You enjoy working in a team and have ability to inspire colleagues around you. Your communication and networking skills are highly valued, as the job requires daily contact within and outside the organization. Fluent communication in English.
