Job Title: Network Administrator
Location: Onsite-Cedar Park, TX 78613
Hours: Monday-Friday; 8-5PM
Job Type: Contract (3 months with possibility of extension)
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr.
GTS is currently hiring a Network Administrator that is responsible for maintaining and supporting a client’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and related technologies. This role ensures the efficient and secure operation of the client’s network and data communication systems, supporting a wide range of departments and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Network Management
· Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
· Monitor network performance to ensure smooth operation, reliability, and optimal security.
· Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
· Maintain the integrity of the client’s LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
Network Security
· Implement and maintain security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
· Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
· Monitor and respond to potential security breaches or incidents in a timely manner.
Technical Support
· Provide technical support for network and system issues to client employees.
· Assist with setting up new workstations, configuring network connections, and managing access control.
· Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for equipment or support when necessary.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
· Ensure the client’s IT systems comply with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices.
· Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
Other Duties
· Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and upgrades.
· Participate in IT-related projects, collaborating with team members and departments.
· Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with new technologies.
· Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check upon hire.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong knowledge or network infrastructure, and hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching
- Experience with Cisco data center networking
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager / CUCM for basic administration and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in network security protocols and firewalls
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid drivers license
Preferences
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher (preferred or equivalent experience).
