We are looking for a Full Stack Backend Developer to join a dynamic and international team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of developer-facing products and platforms. You will work alongside backend and frontend engineers, API specialists, and cloud/infra experts to design, build, and maintain high-performance solutions that serve developers, partners, and customers.
The team values autonomy, humor, trust, and responsibility, and operates in an Agile/Scrum environment. You will have the freedom to innovate, learn, and take ownership of your work within a technically challenging and collaborative setting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using .NET Core and Python/Django stacks
- Build and optimize microservices and event-driven architectures
- Implement automated testing, observability, and security across services
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code deployments
- Develop APIs with robust authentication, rate limiting, and versioning
- Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps, and product owners to deliver high-quality features
- Support and mentor peers, perform code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions
- Troubleshoot and improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous messaging
- Skilled with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Proficient in RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and OAuth2
- Hands-on experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of security best practices, observability, and monitoring
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset
- Visa requirements: Dutch / EU Citizen; or authorised to work in the Netherlands (Permanent Resident, or work permit / HSM visa holder)
