Role Overview:

We’re hiring a Lead SDET Engineer for our Open Innovation AI team. A hands-on technical leader who will design, build, and scale automation systems that ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of OI AI’s AI-native platforms.

This role requires someone who can lead with influence and execution, guiding automation strategy, and at the same time contributing directly by designing, coding, and implementing advanced test frameworks and pipelines.

You’ll own the end-to-end automation strategy. You’ll validate how AI systems reason, respond, and integrate across multiple enterprise modules.

Your mission is simple yet critical: When OIAI ships a release, users should never be the ones discovering defects. Your leadership, automation, and precision will ensure that.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the QA automation strategy for OIAI’s Open Innovation platform, balancing leadership and hands-on contribution.
• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks and systems across multiple AI-driven modules.
• Develop prompt-based and dynamic testing scenarios to validate AI and agent behavior across diverse natural-language inputs and workflows.
• Implement and manage CI/CD-integrated automated test pipelines, ensuring continuous quality and rapid release cycles.
• Conduct performance, load, and scalability testing to maintain responsiveness and reliability under real-world and high-load conditions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and AI research teams to define clear quality benchmarks and success criteria.
• Identify and resolve ambiguous, inconsistent, or unclear system behaviors, contributing directly to a better user and agent experience.
• Own quality gates for production releases, ensuring stability, clarity, and confidence in every deployment.
• Provide technical mentorship to QA/SDET engineers while maintaining deep individual contribution.
• Establish dashboards and analytics for test coverage, regression tracking, and quality trend insights.

Key Requirements

• 7–10 years of professional experience in Software Testing, SDET, or Test Automation.
• 4–5 years of hands-on automation experience in complex enterprise or AI-based systems.
• Proven ability to lead and deliver both strategically as team Lead and technically as an individual contributor.
• Deep expertise with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of API and backend testing, CI/CD integration, and scripting (JavaScript, Python or similar).
• Experience with performance testing tools (Locust, JMeter) and interpreting throughput, latency, and load metrics.
• Strong grasp of system workflows, behavior validation, and edge-case handling.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate quality insights clearly and constructively.
• Prior experience testing AI, NLP, or intent-based systems is a strong plus.
