The Commissioning division oversees design, implementation, management and evaluation of funded service delivery for families, children, women, seniors and other vulnerable populations in Queensland. In partnership with regional offices, the Commissioning division stewards other government agencies, peak bodies and non-government organisations to deliver essential supports that aim to strengthen individual and community outcomes across Queensland.

The Strategic Projects team in the Commissioning division delivers key pieces of work across the division, working to the Deputy Director-General and collaborating closely across the department.

The Senior Project Officer will play a key role in delivering innovative and transformational work within the commissioning space. Reporting to the Manager and working closely with the Principal Project Officer, the Senior Project Officer will lead the delivery of smaller, discrete projects while providing critical support for the delivery of the core Transformational Commissioning project.

The role focuses on driving innovation, facilitating system design processes, and championing positive disruption to improve commissioning practices and outcomes for vulnerable Queenslanders. This work is part of a high-profile initiative with the potential to create meaningful change in government service delivery.

The Senior Project Officer will work collaboratively within a supportive and high-performing team, contributing to the success of the broader project by ensuring the timely delivery of key activities, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and applying innovative approaches to problem-solving.

The role will suit a person with excellent communication skills, and experience working across government departments, non-government organisations and the private sector with a track record in developing and maintaining productive relationships. Demonstrated awareness of the historical and contemporary impacts of philosophies, policies and practices regarding gendered violence against women will be highly regarded.
