About The Department And Team
At ABB Marine & Ports, you work on advanced electrical installations in the maritime sector. Our technologies in energy, drives, and automation have met the high demands of marine and offshore applications for decades.
Within this department, as a Senior Project Manager, you lead an international project team. Together, you work on complex, multidisciplinary projects such as shore-to-ship systems, integrating both ship and shore installations. These projects are carried out using ABB’s own product lines and are always connected to the maritime world.
Your Role And Responsibilities
You are ultimately responsible for the successful execution of multidisciplinary projects within port energy supply. You lead the project team, monitor progress, and act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
What will you do?
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team.
- Stakeholder management: maintain contact with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Coordinate operational activities within the project.
- Ensure safety and compliance during execution.
- Select and contract suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage documentation and technical specifications.
- Maintain and develop long-term client relationships.
- Monitor project planning and budget.
- Perform risk analysis and support cost calculations during the sales phase.
- Report progress, risks, and results to management.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong technical background and proven leadership skills. You also bring:
- Higher education (Bachelor’s/Master’s level).
- At least 8 years of experience with complex projects.
- Familiarity with methodologies such as Prince2, IPMA, or PMI, and strong in risk and progress management.
- Ability to connect interests, communicate clearly, and navigate politically sensitive environments.
- Experience leading (international) teams, motivating colleagues, and encouraging development.
- Strategic thinking in complex situations.
- Awareness of societal and administrative context.
- Goal-oriented, flexible, and stress-resistant.
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Strong communication skills and a true team player, even in international settings.
