Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Associate Java Engineer to join our Data Services and Insights team. This team is responsible for managing and evolving products that surface critical metadata and telemetry related to data center infrastructure management. Key focus areas include Sustainability Reporting, Power, and Environmental Reporting, delivering transparency and actionable insights to customers.

The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and operations of the platform and customer-facing products that help organizations meet their goals. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java development, cloud-based application development, and Agile-Scrum methodology. The role operates within a DevOps environment and requires collaboration with a globally distributed development team. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organization skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a strong drive for results.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Management and key stakeholders to develop efficient and scalable business solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly available, secure, and data-intensive applications that meet business objectives and architectural standards.
• Build Microservices and RESTful APIs following industry best practices.
• Operate effectively in a DevSecOps environment with a quality-first mindset.
• Participate in design and peer code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring SLA compliance.
• Participate in continuous backlog grooming with the Product Owner.
• Work effectively within a globally distributed development team with minimal supervision.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve platform performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, JPA/Spring Data, REST APIs, Swagger, Maven, Hibernate ORM, and testing tools like JUnit and JMeter/LoadRunner.
• Proficiency in data modeling and relational design using RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Exposure to public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or other distributed event-streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile-Scrum and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Experience building user interfaces with React is a strong plus (not mandatory).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
