Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer – TypeScript, Golang, GraphQL, gRPC, GCP - $150-180k + super + options – Hybrid three days a week from the office in Sydney.

We have new roles for a lean, high-performance engineering team of 20 for a global digital healthcare product business with over 100,000 active customers.

They run at such a pace, so expectations are high. The engineering team is senior-heavy, and we want to continue that trend, so there’s no time for hand-holding.

Their GraphQL layer is in TypeScript. Front End is TypeScript/React, and microservices can be either TypeScript (Node) or Golang. They have circa 40-50 microservices in production. The bulk of the backend is in Node, but a big trend is moving to Golang.

When a new microservice needs to be built, engineers can choose between Golang or TypeScript.

For this reason, if you’re an engineer who doesn’t know typescript or Golang, it will be hard to get a job here.

We’re happy to speak to specialists, so if you’re more inclined towards the backend or front end, there will be a place for you on the team.

They are in the process of migrating some of the old monoliths to the new platform, which will require a significant amount of work over the next couple of years. Some other technical challenges are related to launching into new markets and ensuring that their platform can support increased traffic as they scale and grow.

The culture here is super collaborative, and communication skills are vital. In the role, you will be expected to talk with non-technical stakeholders.

These roles are based in Sydney, CBD and three days a week from the office.
