We’re looking for a Senior Backend Architect to strengthen the core systems behind our growing portfolio of digital products.

You’ll join a senior, cross-functional team that ships fast improving infrastructure, payments, integrations, and backend architecture that powers multiple ventures. No legacy, no chaos - just ambitious projects, clear direction, and plenty of room to build smart solutions that scale.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, and maintain a modular backend architecture powering multiple products.
• Own payment infrastructure from gateway integrations (Stripe, Payabl, Adyen, etc.) to subscription logic and refund workflows.
• Create shared tools and APIs that different ventures can reuse (e.g., authentication, analytics, email, billing, CRM integrations).
• Set architectural standards: code structure, documentation, CI/CD, testing practices, monitoring and security.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple product teams (frontend, product, growth, data).
• Oversee infrastructure setup: servers, databases, environments, domain integrations, monitoring, uptime.
• Troubleshoot production systems and ensure scalability, performance, and fault tolerance across ventures.
• Lead and mentor backend or full-stack developers in individual product teams (optional, but a strong plus).
• Act as a technical advisor in new project launches - selecting frameworks, ensuring efficient and scalable backend decisions.

Tech stack

Our current ecosystem uses Next.js (React) for the frontend and Node.js (NestJS) for backend services.That said, we value principles over tools - if you’re experienced with other backend languages or frameworks (Go, Python, Java, etc.), that’s perfectly fine. At this level, we expect you to adapt quickly.

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering or architecture.
• Strong knowledge of backend design patterns, distributed systems, and API design.
• Solid understanding of payments and integrations (experience with multiple gateways, recurring billing, KYC/AML, etc.).
• Experience designing or maintaining modular / multi-project architectures (microservices or multi-tenant).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), CI/CD pipelines, containers, and monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of data modeling (SQL, NoSQL), caching, queues, scalability principles.
• Good communication skills — you’ll work with multiple product managers and engineering teams
• (Nice to have) experience leading a small dev team or acting as a tech lead/mentor.

Salary: starting from €6,400 gross/month, depending on your experience and skill set. We’re open to discussing a higher salary for strong candidates.
