We’re looking for a technically minded Quality Assurance and Data Analyst with 2–3 years of experience in technology projects. About Us

System Performance Support (SPS) is a branch within NSW Health that partners with health service executives, clinicians, and other Ministry teams to improve the performance and sustainability of health services across the state.

Specifically, you will be joining the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program.

The ODS Program develops dashboards and digital update to monitor performance, including the Patient Flow Portal, which tracks be availability, discharge processes, and cleaning workflows, to enable a variety of statewide initiatives.

About The Role

The Quality Assurance and Data Analyst is responsible for developing and validating reports/dashboard, analysing / carrying out quality assurance activities, to ensure enterprise solutions are ready for Production deployment for the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program Team within the Ministry of Health.

These applications consume large amounts of real-time data from numerous source systems used by over 40,000 staff from the Local Health Districts (LHD), Ministry of Health (MoH), Ambulance NSW, Health Share, eHealth, the Pillars and interstate jurisdictions (ACT Health and Network with Victoria).

The Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $132,236 - $150,222 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.

What You Will Do

  • Validate and test developed solutions through detailed data analysis and functional testing to ensure dashboards, reports, and applications are ready for production deployment and handover to eHealth and Local Health Districts (LHDs).
  • Design and build reports/dashboards using diverse NSW Health data sources, applying statistical techniques to interpret and present meaningful insights.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirements, use cases, wireframes, and functional specifications, ensuring cross-platform compatibility across devices and browsers.
  • Conduct quality assurance and data cleansing activities, including functionality testing, integration validation, backend logic checks, and data quality monitoring and rectification.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance and Data Analytic team leads with estimating testing effort, setting up test environments, executing test cases, logging and retesting defects, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), while proactively identifying and reporting any risks or issues.

About You

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health. We are looking for:

  • Experience (> 2 years) with using SQL to develop and validate report, view and store procedure based on a complex underlying technical infrastructure.
  • Experience (> 2 years) with reviewing requirements, use cases and functional specifications to document test cases.
  • Experience (> 2 years) with functional and or integration testing including testing solutions across different devices and browsers.
  • Experience (> 2 years) developing and validating Business Intelligence solutions
  • Experience (> 2 years) with use cases, reviewing requirements and visualization wireframes and functional specifications to develop and execute test cases upon a complex application system.
  • Experience (> 1 year) working within a large, complex organisation with numerous stakeholders to engage ranging from data analysts, developers, business analysts, testers, clinicians, and Executives.
  • Experience (> 1 year) with using supportive and automation related applications such as Devops, Power Automate and/or Python.
  • Relevant educational background including a Bachelor degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Clinical degree or equivalent.
