Job Overview
You will be deployed to our client who is a leading government technology agency driving digital transformation and innovation in the healthcare sector. You'll be responsible for supporting the deployment and operations of network security infrastructure. You will assist with the installation, monitoring, troubleshooting and testing of network systems and solutions. You will also monitor and configure network components to ensure security, and resolves network incidents. Ensure that network activities are documented appropriately and in compliance with the required procedures and standards. Familiar with core networking technologies and trends, network standards and network routing protocols. You may be required to work on a rotational on-call or shift basis. A motivated team player and is driven by results, possessing strong analytical skills and works well in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Configure & Administer Networks:
- Update network diagrams and documentation for design and planning of network communication systems
- Determine impact of network requirements on existing architecture, work processes and systems
- Participate in technical design reviews of applicable solutions
Optimise Network Utilisation & Performance:
- Consolidate network data based on key parameters or metrics
- Assist in the development of capacity planning models, load-balance and/or redundancy solutions
- Administer tuning of firewall rules for optimisation
- Review facility bandwidth requirements and system inter-dependencies
- Document network security activities in accordance with organisational policies
- Monitor network activity and log technical issues
- Maintain awareness of emerging software and/or hardware solutions
Support Network Security Operations:
- Conduct regular maintenance, patches and upgrades to the network
- Prepare technical specifications and documents to procure network equipment
- Perform routine backups and administer disaster recovery protocols
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans
Manage Network Security:
- Monitor indicators of compromise or breach in network security
- Track and document network security incidents
- Configure network security across software and/or hardware components
- Coordinate and configure network access and controls
Resolve Network Incidents:
- Classify and prioritise network incidents for troubleshooting
- Document network incidents and resolution methods
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must be CCNP certified; CCIE certification is highly advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing large enterprise networks. Requires deep expertise in configuration, troubleshooting, and capacity planning across major security and infrastructure platforms, including Palo Alto, Cisco, and Check Point.
- Deep hands-on technical proficiency with Firewalls and Proxy configurations, implementation, and support.
- Expertise in designing, monitoring, and network & incident management (LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Experiences in switches, load balancers, routers, and ISE are preferable.
- Experience with automation scripting is beneficial, particularly using tools like Python and Ansible.
- Must be comfortable with night activities/ weekends / shift work, when required
