We are currently recruiting for a technology-driven investment firm in Vienna seeking to expand the engineering team with a skilled Software Engineer. The work revolves around acquiring, refining, transforming, and managing data to support our modeling efforts. These models are powered by a diverse tech stack and draw from a wide range of data sources, including vendor APIs and a network of continuously operating web crawlers.
In this role, you'll contribute to the development of high-performance quantitative applications and help streamline engineering workflows. You'll collaborate closely with quantitative analysts and senior leadership, so strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Also you will act as deputy team lead for the Vienna office. We're looking for someone with a solid professional background, ideally at the mid-career level.
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade software
- Proficiency in C++ with at least 5 years of hands-on use
- Strong foundation in object-oriented programming principles
- Familiarity with test-driven development practices
- Ability to implement scalable testing processes
- Skilled in identifying bugs, documenting issues, and designing regression tests
- Exposure to mathematically intensive systems (e.g., statistical modeling, time series, optimization)
- Practical experience with Python for both system-level and application-level tasks
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- 3+ years of experience in financial software or investment-related development
- Advanced academic background in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, financial engineering, or economics)
- Experience working with large-scale financial data platforms (e.g., Reuters, MarketQA, Capital IQ)
- Understanding of concurrent systems and performance optimization
- Familiarity with basic statistical and econometric techniques
- Experience in leading a software team
- Design and implementation of robust reporting and trade reconciliation systems
- Development and optimization of FIX protocol-based order routing and execution workflows
- Engineering low-latency market data pipelines and real-time pricing infrastructure
- Building and maintaining post-trade analytics and downstream data feeds for compliance, risk,and performance analysis
Working closely with traders, quants, and other engineers to ensure high reliability, accuracy, and
performance across the full trading lifecycle.
The total compensation for this role starts at EUR 95,000.00 annually. A competitive, performance-based package will be offered based on experience and qualifications.
