Principal Product Manager

Are you excited about leading products that influence strategic decisions in industries like quantum computing, space technology, and artificial intelligence? Do you want the challenge of building product principles and processes from the ground up?

If so, this Intelligence Platform is looking for a Principal Product Manager to be their first dedicated product hire, shaping the product function and driving transformational change.

About the Role?

Reporting to the CEO, they’re seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Product Manager to join their team as the first dedicated product hire. In this role, you’ll drive the vision, strategy, and delivery of their platforms, turning a basic roadmap into a structured, strategic, and impactful roadmap. You will implement best practices, agile ways of working, product processes, and principles to ultimately ensure their products meet the evolving needs of their diverse client base.

They’re looking for you to bridge the gap between the customer and the product. Your mission is to also influence stakeholders, prioritise features, and help shape a scalable product function to support the company’s growth. With a focus on market needs and commercial value, you will create products that resonate with their clients.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy + Roadmap

  1. Take ownership of the current basic roadmap and transform it into a structured, strategic product roadmap.
  2. Develop and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with company goals and user needs.
  3. Implement product principles, OKRs, and agile processes to drive product excellence.

Product Development & User Experience

  1. Collaborate with UX designers to turn concepts into prototypes, test designs, and iterate based on feedback.
  2. Work with engineering and data teams to integrate advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities into the product.
  3. Establish user groups and processes to regularly test ideas and gather feedback to inform product enhancements.

Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration

  1. Bridge the gap between technical teams and business functions to ensure alignment on product priorities.
  2. Communicate complex technical or operational concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, actionable way.
  3. Work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership to align product offerings with market needs and opportunities.

Understanding Complex Domains

  1. Quickly learn and synthesise ideas from complex fields like quantum computing, AI, and space technology, focusing on actionable insights rather than deep technical details.
  2. Use this understanding to guide product decisions and ensure the platform remains at the forefront of emerging tech.

Commercialisation + Growth

  1. Understand the commercial aspects of the platform, including monetising data and delivering value to customer segments like investors and corporates.
  2. Help scale the product function and adapt processes as the company and product portfolio grow.

About you?

Experience

  1. 7+ years of product management experience.
  2. Experience in SaaS, B2B or scale-up environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience implementing product processes, best practices, and agile ways of working.
  4. Proven ability to manage data-centric products or platforms that deal with technical complexity.
