Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to drive a high-impact security implementation project. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and optimizing network access control (NAC) solutions, with a focus on Aruba Clearpass.
• Configuring and managing network infrastructure, including Alcatel switches, Juniper SRX, Extreme, and Cisco Fortigate devices.
• Ensuring robust network security through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Administering and configuring systems related to applied networking technologies.
• Managing LAN and WAN protocols, routing, and switching to guarantee high availability and performance.
• Utilizing monitoring and analytics tools such as CheckMK and Splunk for network health and security insights.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant network solutions.
• Documenting configurations, processes, and compliance requirements as part of a public sector framework contract.
• Leveraging ITSM platforms such as Freshworks ITSM and/or ServiceNow for incident and change management.
• Adhering to all project documentation, NDA, and IT code requirements as specified by the client.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a network specialist, with a minimum of 3 years in similar roles.
• Hands-on expertise with Aruba Clearpass (HPA Advanced Certificate required).
• Strong background in Alcatel switches, Juniper SRX (JNCIA-Junos Certificate preferred), Extreme, and Splunk.
• Demonstrable experience with network infrastructure, including Cisco Fortigate and F5 BIG-IP LTM.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LAN, WAN protocols, routing, and switching.
• Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with system administration and configuration of networking technologies.
• Familiarity with public sector environments and framework contracts is a plus.
• Proficiency with ITSM tools such as Freshworks ITSM and/or ServiceNow.
• CCNA Certification required.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Commitment to confidentiality and compliance, including signing NDA and IT code documents.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.

Other Requirements

• This is a freelance position with a fixed project duration: 7 months (01/01/2026 – 15/07/2027), with potential for extension.
• 100% work regime (full-time commitment).
• Remote work is possible, with on-site presence as required by the project.
• Compliance with all project documentation, NDA, and IT code requirements.
• Assignment falls under a public sector framework contract (2022–2027).
