Software Engineer – R&D, Java, Cloud & AI – Remote / Heidelberg – €85,000

You’d be joining a 30-year-old software company that’s completely reinventing itself - modernising its ERP platform (used by 35,000+ end users) with microservices, Kubernetes, AI, and business intelligence.

The team sits at the crossroads of deep business logic and modern engineering — building software that genuinely makes complex retail and distribution processes run smoother.

You’ll work in a tight-knit R&D team that values clean code, clever solutions, and long-term thinking over quick fixes.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and ship new features and applications
• Help shape the shift to cloud-native, AI-driven architecture
• Collaborate with customers to automate and optimise real-world processes
• Continuously refine internal tools, integrations, and workflows

What you’ll need:

• Strong Java skills and solid knowledge of SQL
• Experience in modern software development (bonus: Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices)
• Professional proficiency in German and English
• Curiosity, autonomy, and a desire to build things properly
