Our Cognitive & Data Science team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of product innovation by combining data with creativity to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We are looking for a Data Engineer to help us design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and architectures that support this mission. In close collaboration with the Information and Digital Transformation team, you will explore, develop, and implement new tools and methods that accelerate innovation, enhance predictability, and differentiate our offerings for both internal and external customers.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that power Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, driving business innovation and unlocking new opportunities across the organization. Your expertise will help us unlock new opportunities, improve processes, and inform strategic decisions across the organization. Your KPIs will primarily be the internal adoption of the tools as well as the positive impact on win rate and project execution

To succeed in this role, you are a skilled Data Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in the field of data science with a strong business acumen. You combine solid scientific fundamentals with agility and pragmatism, delivering results that matter. Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Data architecture design: Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to design and implement data architectures that meet the needs of our ML/AI projects.
  • Data pipeline development: Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines using tools such as Apache Beam, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  • Big Data processing: Design and implement big data processing workflows using frameworks like Spark, or similar, to process large datasets.
  • Data integration: Integrate data from various sources (e.g., structured, unstructured, API) into a unified data landscape.
  • Data quality and governance: Ensure high-quality, well-governed data by implementing data quality controls, data validation rules, and data lineage tracking with the Global Data Operations team.
  • Cloud computing: Leverage cloud platforms like AWS to design and deploy scalable data architectures.

Your Growth Opportunities:

  • ML/AI infrastructure: Collaborate with the Data Science team to develop and maintain infrastructure for deploying ML/AI models, including model serving, data storage, and metadata management.
  • DevOps: Implement DevOps practices to ensure efficient deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data pipelines and architectures.
  • Technical leadership: Lead by example, contributing to the development of best practices within the team.
  • Staying up to date: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in big data, cloud computing, and AI/ML.

What Makes You The Right Fit

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or data science roles (motivated candidates with strong foundational skills and willingness to learn are welcome).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of database systems, including relational, NoSQL, and graph databases.
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools (e.g., Apache Beam, Kafka).
  • Experience delivering Big Data projects using frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Snowflake.
  • Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and creativity in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).

  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of data science methodologies and ML/AI concepts.
