Backend Engineer - ML Services & Infrastructure

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and maintain Python-based RESTful APIs (FastAPI) for ML/LLM features
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to deliver robust solutions
• Optimize databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Milvus) and improve observability for distributed workloads
• Work with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and AWS services (EKS, ECS, S3)
• Integrate and optimize calls to LLM APIs (OpenAI) and agentic frameworks
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions

What we’re looking for:

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience, 2+ years with async Python
• Strong Python skills (async/await, Pydantic v2, pytest)
• Experience with FastAPI, ASGI servers, and distributed systems
• Familiarity with vector search systems, message queues, and batch processing patterns
• Comfortable with containerization and CI/CD workflows
• Good English proficiency and remote collaboration skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with LLM-based applications, observability tools, and Airflow
• Knowledge of OpenAI Agents SDK, prompt engineering, and evaluation techniques
