Senior / Lead PHP Developer | 1 day a month in Daventry | 70-80k

You’ve probably worked on a product where all the big decisions were already made.

Architecture locked in. Roadmap fixed. Your job? Ship what someone else scribbled on a whiteboard months ago.

This role is the opposite.

The business has a platform that runs their entire fulfilment operation - and they’re now turning it into a full SaaS product with customers already waiting in the US and Europe.

And they want you involved early enough that your thinking actually shapes what this product becomes.

You’ll be the senior dev working right alongside their Principal Engineer (effectively the CTO), helping make the calls that set this whole thing up for scale.

You’ll influence architecture.

You’ll challenge decisions.

You’ll set standards.

And you’ll help build the foundations of a product that could genuinely change the direction of the company.

You’ll also mentor their mid-level developer - giving you space to lead without the pressure of inheriting a huge team on day one.

You’ll get stuck into things like:

• Rebuilding and improving areas of the Laravel platform that need a “proper” solution
• Designing the SaaS structure - subscription tiers, supportability, architecture
• Making sure nothing relies on bespoke fixes or sticking plasters
• Working closely with ops and warehouse teams so what you build works in the real world
• Setting standards, mentoring, and being the natural successor into a Lead role

Tech you’ll use:

• PHP 8+ / Laravel
• Vue.js & Typescript
• REST APIs & Shopify-style integrations
• Cloud tooling and modern deployment practices
