Join our team at Nokia's Espoo Headquarters as a Working Student and contribute to the development of AI/XR demos over 5G mobile networks. You will be part of a new project that combines AI, XR, and 5G technology, requiring strong analytical and programming skills.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Definition and development of an AI-based traffic pattern dictionary for next-gen intelligent networks, based on intense lab testing of AI-powered apps on mobile devices.
  • Analysis of 5G uplink resource usage (database mining) to identify early trends and patterns in AI/XR network traffic, and - if needed - creation of ad hoc research tools/API.
  • Support and develop Extended Reality (XR) demos over 5G mobile networks, in collaboration with leading XR partners

Must Haves

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in programming (e.g. Python)
  • Good understanding of Large Language Models (LLM's), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written

It Would Be Nice If You Also Had

  • Familiarity with telco/AI concepts such as 5G, BTS, edge computing, cloud/client AI inference
  • Previous projects involving AI/XR solution/use cases
  • Experience in data analysis or strong analytical skills and ability to work with data
  • Understanding of traffic modelling or network simulation tools
  • Previous experience in hackathons, student research, or open-source contributions
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset with enthusiasm to tackle technology challenges

Kindly note that to be able to work as a thesis worker in Nokia Finland, you must hold active student status and be located in Finland since international relocation support is not available for trainee positions.
