Here’s a role for someone who enjoys keeping complex systems calm, predictable, and only mildly mischievous. You’ll join a team building and running multi-region AWS EKS environments that support mission-critical workloads, the sort of systems that behave beautifully when cared for properly.
About the organisation
This organisation builds secure, enterprise-grade technology used by institutional clients in a highly regulated sector. They operate globally, rely heavily on AWS, and are known for combining strong engineering standards with a practical, down-to-earth culture.
What you’ll do
- Run and enhance multi-region AWS EKS environments, ensuring workloads stay available, observable, and well-behaved.
- Build and deploy containerised applications, including Helm charts, pipelines, and IaC with Terraform.
- Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Splunk.
- Lead technical initiatives, collaborating with engineering and risk teams while nudging everything towards automation.
What you need
- Deep production experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS), plus comfort operating large cross-account setups.
- Strong CI/CD skills with Jenkins and Git, along with solid UNIX and scripting experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of monitoring/alerting stacks and container tooling including Docker.
- Familiarity with Kafka/Confluent, infrastructure-as-code, and building resilient multi-region systems.
The practical bits
Salary: up to €75,000 plus a 15% bonus.
Location: hybrid, with roughly 25% onsite.
Work setup: collaborative engineering environment with plenty of autonomy.
Visa: Stamp 4 or EU passport only.
You need to live within 90 minutes commute of Galway.
