Network Security Architect

Location: Dublin/Cork (Hybrid)

Contract Type: 6-Month Daily Rate (potential for extension)


Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Security Architect to design and implement secure, resilient network infrastructure and solutions. This role supports the ongoing digital transformation of a leading financial institution, enhancing customer experience and enabling cost-effective, secure, and reliable technology solutions. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally, collaborating across Enterprise IT Services (EITS), Group Technology, and business units to deliver innovative outcomes.


Requirements:

Essential:

Proven expertise in the design and implementation of secure and resilient network solutions.

Strong familiarity with Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) network security compliance.

In-depth understanding of network security architecture within the financial sector.

Experience with banking and payments regulatory requirements, including PSD2/PSD3, DORA, and PCI-DSS.

Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-class network security solutions within transformation programmes.

Strong risk management and control experience.

Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively within a high-performing team.

Candidates must be based in Ireland with either a Stamp 4 visa or EU citizenship.


Desired:

5-7+ years’ experience in managing and operating network security technologies.

Knowledge of Irish and European regulatory landscapes for financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Strategy & Delivery:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the network and network security environment and its configuration to enable seamless integration of new services.

Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient network solutions that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.

Simplify the managed environment, minimising complexity while maintaining industry-leading solutions.

Drive automation initiatives, focusing on reducing repetitive tasks and enabling high-value activities.

Enable the development of secure cloud connectivity and integration solutions.

Build and maintain productive relationships with relevant third-party providers supporting the function.


Risk Management & Control:

Understand the risk landscape across network and security processes.

Maintain and enhance control environments, ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Proactively address audit findings with effective, permanent solutions.

Support the remediation of findings from external reviews, ensuring long-term improvements.


Leadership and Culture:

Act as a role model by embodying the organisation’s values.

Foster an open, collaborative team culture, encouraging active contributions from all team members.

Support initiatives to enhance the working environment, including those informed by staff feedback.


Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, including Group Technology and risk/audit teams.

Manage stakeholder expectations and perceptions proactively, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Contribute to team-wide objectives by championing a strong team ethos.
