Internship - Software Engineering for SlideRightQA [TypeScript]

For many years Barco has been contributing to improved healthcare by means of solutions in radiology, mammography, surgery, dermatology, dentistry, pathology etc.

The Barco Labs Healthcare team is constantly looking for new innovative solutions that push forward the state-of-the-art and can improve healthcare models. This group takes care of the entire innovation cycle: ideation and MVP definition, market evaluation and business case creation, R&D and clinical work for creation of proof of concepts and solutions, market and clinical / regulatory validation of the solutions, business model and business plan creation, up to commercial introduction and early pilot sales

The task at hand

During your internship you will play a role in the SlideRightQA software development ( https://www.barco.com/en/product/slideright-qa ) this is a solution where digital images produced in a pathology lab are analyzed for quality artifacts. The team developing SlideRightQA follows an Agile/SCRUM approach. You will be joining this team during the period of your internship participating in the day-to-day activities and agile ceremonies (refinement, planning stand-ups, development, demo and retro). The software development cycle followed is very modern following best practices and relying on modern technology like AWS, Github, Github Actions, …

Qualifications

• Generic software skills:
• Software engineering including documentation and unit testing
• Experience with version control (Github) and containers (Docker)
• Development of REST interfaces
• Software development in Node.js, TypeScript and/or Python
• And interest in at least one of these areas:
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• DevOps
• Security
• Fluent spoken and written communication in English

Furthermore, you should be a student in a technical discipline, eligible to work at our HQ in Kortrijk Belgium.
