Compensation:

• Netherlands: Senior/Lead €80,000–€90,000 + 8% holiday allowance | Principal €100,000–€115,000 + 8% holiday allowance

Join a New AI Engineering Team

A major digital organisation is launching a brand-new AI Engineering function to drive the enablement, adoption and scaling of Generative AI across the entire business. This team will build the platforms, infrastructure and tooling that unlock AI-driven productivity—from multi-agent workflows to LLM observability, MCP integrations and enterprise-grade GenAI systems.

We are hiring both Senior/Lead Software Engineers and Principal Software Engineers to help shape the company’s next-generation AI platform.

What You’ll Do (All Levels)

• Design, build and scale foundational GenAI platform capabilities, including:
• AI gateways
• Python & TypeScript SDKs
• RAG pipelines
• LLM frameworks
• Vector database integrations
• MCP capabilities and agentic tooling
• Develop reusable automation and workflow components used across the organisation.
• Partner with engineering teams to define, implement and evangelise GenAI standards.
• Build production-scale systems deployed in AWS using ECS, Fargate, EKS, and IaC.
• Support engineering teams in adopting GenAI best practices and integrating advanced capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities (Principal Level)

• Lead and mentor a team of AI-focused engineers.
• Own the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for GenAI.
• Establish and influence engineering-wide standards and governance.
• Drive adoption and usage of the AI platform across business units.

What You Bring

Core Qualifications (Senior/Lead & Principal)

• Proven experience developing GenAI applications using frameworks such as LlamaIndex, LangGraph, or similar.
• Strong understanding of LLM model families, providers, and performance trade-offs.
• 5+ years (Senior/Lead) or 8+ years (Principal) building large-scale production applications in Python, Node, TypeScript or Go.
• Deep understanding of GenAI primitives such as vector databases, RAG, memory, semantic/hybrid search, agentic workflows, MCP and A2A patterns.
• Ability to work autonomously on complex technical problems.
• Experience deploying scalable applications in AWS.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Production TypeScript experience at scale.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock (Guardrails, Evaluations, Agents).
• Developing organisation-wide GenAI evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with LLM observability tooling.
• Building or integrating MCP servers with AuthN/AuthZ controls.
