What will you be doing?
In this position, you will play a leading role in developing and optimizing advanced analytics solutions that strengthen Transaction Monitoring (TM) capabilities for more than 8 million customers. You will design, build, and refine analytical models and rule-based systems that detect patterns of criminal behavior.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, engineers, and domain experts, and collaborate closely with stakeholders across data, business, and technology. Your work spans the full model lifecycle: from ideation and data exploration to model development, validation, and implementation in production environments.
You will translate complex data challenges into actionable analytical solutions, guide discussions with senior management, and help drive the transition from rule-based monitoring to more advanced Machine Learning approaches in the long term.
Who are you?
You are an experienced and strategically minded Senior Data Scientist who thrives at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and financial-crime prevention. With at least five years of experience in advanced analytics, modelling, or artificial intelligence, you know how to translate data patterns into meaningful insights and robust production-ready models.
You bring a deep understanding of Python, PySpark, and large-scale data environments, and you enjoy working in a dynamic, high-impact setting. You are comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders, from IT specialists to financial crime experts, and you communicate complex findings clearly and convincingly.
Hard requirements:
- Academic degree (MSc or PhD) in Data Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field;
- 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics / modelling / AI with large datasets;
- strong skills in Python, PySpark, and Spark (experience with Azure Databricks is a plus);
- proven experience bringing analytics models into production;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong preference:
- Structured, precise, communicative, and proactive; able to work well with different roles and stakeholders;
- strong business awareness and a can-do mentality;
- experience in dynamic, high-paced, high-impact environments (Agile experience is a plus).
