Junior Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer

Among the European leaders in Enterprise Risk Management and Wealth & Asset Management solutions, Prometeia is looking for a candidate within the areas of Data Science and ML Engineering.
The selected candidate will be placed in the team of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with an entrepreneurship soul and a focus on not only financial institutions' digitalization processes but also cross-sectoral real-world applications of AI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of PoCs and/or AI products in technical areas of AI like Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) on big tabular data
- Collaborate with both local and global data scientists and clients from divergent industries
- Eager to follow literature, research, prototype, implement and evaluate applications of state-of-the-art ML/DL algorithms in real-world data science problems
- Contribute to analytical tasks like ML algorithm design, implementation, validation and testing
- Willingness to multi-task, learn new technologies in a lean development environment
- Contribute to research papers and attend conferences.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency and hands-on experience in coding with Python
- Hands-on academic and/or industry experience on one or more of the frameworks and libraries: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, pyspark
- Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming languages
- Computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design patterns
- Experience in relational SQL databases is a plus
- Experience in Linux/Unix operating system is a plus
- Experience with code versioning systems (git) is a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Having a BSc. Degree in Machine Learning, Deep Learning or related fields of Computer Science and Data Science
SOFT SKILLS
- Skill to effectively describe and report on complex ideas and projects
- Fluency in English with the ability to present findings and insights to clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of complex technical concepts
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Result-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving tangible outcomes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Internship or professional experience in the finance or consultancy sector is a plus
