Quant Analyst Power Markets (f/m/d)

Are you ready to drive innovation in the Nordic Structured Trading team? At Axpo Nordic, you’ll play a key role in developing advanced quantitative models and tools to support our renewable energy and flexibility solutions. Join us and shape the future of energy trading!

What you will do:

  • Develop capabilities for Renewable Energy Offtake, BESS, Flexibility, and Ancillary Services products.
  • Build pricing methods and tools for Flexibility-related solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Nordic Physical Trading desk to develop optimization algorithms/tools for multi-market optimization.
  • Apply complex data science methods to identify trading opportunities in European commodities markets.
  • Design models to support trading strategies and perform ad hoc analysis tasks with the team.
  • Promote the use of data and analytics within Axpo Nordic and actively contribute to Axpo’s Data Scientist and Quant communities.


What you bring & who you are:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, or Finance (relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree may be considered).
  • At least 3 years of experience in Power Markets and strong knowledge of European energy markets.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages.
  • Applied statistics skills (e.g., distributions, statistical testing, regression).
  • Experience with databases, APIs and data lakes, as well as data visualization and machine learning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset and commercial interest.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English.
