Regional Cybersecurity Coordinator (Industrial OT) - Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Regional Cybersecurity Coordinator with strong exposure to industrial environments (OT/ICS) and production plants. This is not a traditional IT position - the ideal profile has hands-on experience in factories, shopfloor systems, labs, or industrial maintenance environments, working closely with engineering, production, safety, and facility management teams.

Position description

You will act as the key interface between local industrial teams and our client’s central IT/OT cybersecurity organisation, ensuring that all security measures are correctly deployed, monitored, and continuously improved across multiple sites in the region.

The role is fully remote with occasional travel to Paris (1–2 times per month) to collaborate with the central team.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the main liaison between local teams (Lab, Shopfloor, Facility Management) and central IT/OT security management.
• Ensure full compliance with industrial cybersecurity policies.
• Coordinate and follow up on cybersecurity actions across all regional sites.
• Guarantee strict confidentiality of production data, internal procedures, and operational flows.
• Oversee the implementation and monitoring of OT/ICS security controls.
• Support assessments, audits, and reviews of industrial systems.
• Provide remediation guidance and coordinate incident response activities.
• Monitor the execution of preventive and corrective measures without disrupting production processes.
• Coordinate regional cybersecurity incident handling and track remediation plans.
• Work with ticketing, monitoring, and industrial EDR/IDS tools to identify and resolve risks.
• Work closely with local teams: Lab, Safety, HSE, Production, Facility Management.
• Collaborate with Digital Services and central cybersecurity units to ensure alignment and governance.

Requirements:

• Deep knowledge of industrial/OT environments such as SCADA, PLC, DCS.
• Strong mastery of industrial communication protocols:
• Modbus, OPC-UA, Profibus, and others.
• Solid background in networking, systems engineering, and OT/IT security.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as ITSM, SIEM, industrial IDS/EDR.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, IEC 62443, ISO 27019 and other security standards.

Nice to have:

• Previous work in production plants, factories, or industrial sites.
• Ability to assess, report, and communicate complex technical findings clearly.
• Capability to intervene in live environments with zero disruption to production.
• Regional presence and availability for occasional on-site interventions.
• Fluency in English (all documentation is produced in English).
