About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Fullstack React + Node Engineer with strong technical expertise to help a Brand Squad. This team focuses on all branding-related experiences across the Backcountry ecosystem, including the homepage, blog, resource pages, and promotional/static pages.
The current major initiative is migrating these pages to a Next.js + Adobe AEM experience to significantly improve content authoring capabilities. This is a strategic, high-impact opportunity in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with Engineering Leadership and Product teams.
Responsibilities
- Help lead the Brand team by participating in technical and product decision-making.
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership to define architecture and development best practices.
- Create detailed technical stories that guide development within the squad.
- Build new pages using Next.js integrated with Adobe AEM.
- Maintain the decoupled UI (Vanilla JS, React, Dust.js) for Backcountry’s Oracle ATG Commerce–based websites.
- Maintain and support integration APIs written in Scala and portions of ATG code in Java.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes, cloud architecture, and overall code quality.
Required Qualifications
Strong professional experience with React, Node.js, and modern JavaScript development.
- Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering.
- Solid experience with Java, Spring Boot, and backend architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Oracle and MongoDB databases.
- Ability to work across multiple languages and stacks (JavaScript, Java, Scala).
- Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy front-end assets (Vanilla JS, Dust.js, jQuery).
Nice To Have Skills
- Experience with Adobe AEM development or AEM integrations.
- Background with Oracle ATG Commerce.
- Strong UI/UX sensibility for content-driven pages.
- Experience in e-commerce or high-traffic consumer-facing applications.
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and automated quality processes.
