Web Browser Engineer
As part of a research and development team, we are looking for a motivated Web Browser Engineer to work on browser engine development. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and make a meaningful impact on product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the browser engine and its performance by researching algorithms and improving loading speed, UI responsiveness, energy efficiency, and memory usage.
- Explore and prototype new technologies (e.g., graphics APIs, rendering techniques, AI/compute solutions) to enhance parallelism and efficiency within the browser engine.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in academia and open-source communities, and provide analytical reports based on findings.
- Experience in optimizing JavaScript engines is considered an advantage.
Requirements
- Relevant university degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD).
- More than 5 years of experience in C/C++ programming.
- Strong background in embedded systems and operating system architecture.
- Excellent debugging and profiling skills for low-level code and system architecture.
- Solid understanding of browser engine and graphics fundamentals (e.g., OpenGL ES, Vulkan).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Open-minded and eager to learn.
Preferred qualifications
- Deep understanding of browser internals (parsing, layout, painting, rasterization, compositing).
- Experience with mobile systems or web/graphics-related projects.
- Contributions to open-source projects or publications in international conferences.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, long-term contractor position. The start date is as soon as possible.
Work will be carried out in company offices located in Finland.
