Role Overview
As a Network Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting, securing, and optimising the organisation’s global network landscape. Working closely with the Senior Network Engineer, you’ll help drive the availability, stability, and performance of a wide range of technologies, including data centre networks, LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls, and security solutions.
This is an ideal role for someone seeking broad technical exposure, hands-on responsibility, and the chance to directly influence network operations in a complex, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain networking standards across all global offices and manufacturing sites.
- Manage core network connectivity, wireless solutions, firewalls, security platforms, remote access, authentication systems, and regular access reviews.
- Support day-to-day network and security operations while contributing to the design and rollout of new network, wireless, and security solutions.
- Manage 3rd-party WAN, LAN, and firewall vendors, including service, incident, and change reviews for the UK region.
- Provide daily monitoring and incident response across MPLS, P2P, SD-WAN, and VPN services.
- Collaborate with the IT Security team on ongoing and new compliance initiatives.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and contribute to remediation plans.
- Provide 2nd-line support for network security incidents and assist with forensic investigations and root-cause analysis.
- Work closely with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently met.
Experience & Skills Required
- 3–5 years’ experience supporting enterprise-level WAN, LAN, and firewall environments.
- Experience supporting or exposure to manufacturing / industrial operating environments is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, IPSec VPN, remote VPN, IDS/IPS.
- Hands-on experience administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless solutions.
- CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience working within a global organisation across multiple geographic regions.
- Solid understanding of Cisco LAN technologies, wireless protocols, wireless surveys, and remediation best practices.
- Production experience with Microsoft Azure; Azure networking certification advantageous.
- Proficiency with packet capture tools, bandwidth monitoring, advanced troubleshooting, and security utilities.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment with a strong service focus.
Highly Desirable Certifications:
CCNA, CCNP, Cloud Networking, Azure, AWS, Firewall certifications.
