Emanate Technology is partnering with a small Government agency to recruit a Senior Data Analyst. In this role, you will contribute to a critical project aimed at consolidating all organisational data into a single source across multiple environments and systems that need to be centralised.
You will help the Data Architect in the plan, design and delivery of a reusable data cleansing and migration solution to enable business transformation, migrating from legacy ERP systems to a new ERP platform.
This solution will provide the foundation for an enterprise data platform uplift. The second stage will focus on consolidating and standardising data extraction, transformation and loading processes, while establishing enterprise-grade BI, reporting and analytics capabilities by leveraging existing technologies.
The third stage aims to extend the core enterprise data platform to accommodate additional data sources, serve new consumers, and support subsequent data migrations, enhanced BI and analytics, and system integration for regular bulk data transfers.
This stage may also include extending the platform to handle unstructured or semi-structured data.
The Successful Candidate Will:
Focus on the immediate, hands-on execution of the ERP migration, specifically the crucial process of data cleansing and quality assurance. You will work in support of the Senior Data Architect to implement data management processes and technology solutions, ensuring all data handling, storage and processing complies with governance standards and Australian privacy requirements.
You will profile and analyse large, complex datasets to identify anomalies, define and execute technical rules for large-scale data cleansing and remediation, and develop automated data quality checks against defined business rules. You will also prepare, visualise and report on data quality findings and patterns to support decision-making throughout the migration effort.
Additionally, you will mentor and coach internal data professionals on best practices, analytical techniques and technical skills to build organisational capability.
Key Skills and Experience:
You will have expert-level experience identifying data anomalies such as duplicates, missing values and outliers, and extensive experience using commercial data quality and profiling tools to streamline cleansing for large datasets.
Proficiency in defining and executing data cleansing rules for large-scale migrations, advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, and experience establishing secure processes for data collection and validation are essential.
A strong understanding of data governance standards and proven ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders using dashboards and reports is required. Experience mentoring internal data professionals will also be highly valued.
Additional Skills (Highly Regarded):
Proficiency in Python or R for advanced data manipulation and automation, experience developing dashboards using Power BI or Tableau, familiarity with cloud-based data storage concepts, and exposure to advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
How to Apply:
If this role aligns with your skills and experience, please submit your current CV via the application link. Suitable candidates will be contacted for an initial discussion and provided with further details.
