Job Title: Lead Software Engineer - Node.js

Location: Leipzig - Onsite



We're working with a forward-thinking client who is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to strengthen their development team. In this role, you'll take responsibility for the full software development lifecycle - from initial design through to implementation - while helping shape the technical direction of the team.



What you'll be doing

• Leading the design and development of reliable, high-performing software solutions.
• Working on integrations and maintaining connections with different external systems and services.
• Making sure the software is scalable, secure, and built with long-term quality in mind.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues in testing, operations, and development.
• Taking part in continuous improvement and contributing ideas to innovation projects.
  

What we're looking for

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar - or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Several years of professional software development experience, ideally including time in a senior or lead role.
• Strong skills in backend development with Node.js and Express.
• Good knowledge of frontend technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Familiarity with automated testing, monitoring, deployments, and Agile/DevOps practices.
• Some knowledge of C#/.NET would be useful, and a willingness to work with it when needed is important.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in fast-moving environments.
• A collaborative and open way of working, with good communication skills.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
