Back End Developer

The mission of the Back end Developer at HackMotion is to take ownership of our web infrastructure and help us scale it to the next level. You’ll be responsible for system architecture, backend system development, and infrastructure scaling, ensuring our platform can keep up with millions of visitors and tens of thousands of yearly orders.

You’ll join the web team and lead a major technical shift toward modular, containerized systems and service-oriented architecture. From designing the foundation to building new backend services, you’ll have a direct hand in shaping how our e-commerce stack evolves.

Your tasks:

• Design and implement modular backend systems to support HackMotion’s e-commerce platform and web ecosystem.
• Take ownership of system architecture decisions (containerization, routing, service architecture) and ensure scalability.
• Develop and expand our internal Operations app to solve the ever-growing needs of the business.
• Be the technical voice in conversations with teams across the organization, translating needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Own your part of the backlog, delivering reliable, high-quality features on a sprint basis.

What we expect:

• Hands-on experience designing and scaling backend systems in the cloud — including system architecture, containerized environments, etc.
• Experience with Node.js for backend services, and willingness to work with .NET for more complex systems.
• Familiarity with WordPress/WooCommerce backend development as we are transitioning away from it.
• Experience designing and managing databases (SQL/NoSQL) to meet evolving needs.
• Knowledge of Git version control and collaborative workflows.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Good English communication skills (both verbal and written).
