Why This Role Matters
As a Data Science Intern on the Goodyear Data Science team, you will contribute to the enhancement of our tire status estimation models. Goodyear Data Science is a state-of-the-art drive-over-reader tire inspection solution, consisting of multiple cameras, lasers, and sensors that automatically measure tire pressure, tread depth, axle load, and vehicle weight in seconds. Your work will advance our AI-powered vision and multi-modal models, helping to unlock faster, more accurate tire diagnostics and predictive insights.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct a state-of-the-art literature review on vision and multi-modal machine learning models.
- Benchmark different approaches using internal datasets.
- Build, train, and validate machine learning models to enhance tire status estimation.
- Explore edge cases to improve model robustness.
- Present project updates during team meetings.
- Produce high-quality code and maintain comprehensive documentation for internal and external use.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in progress in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a similar field.
- Very good English language skills.
- Experience coding in Python and using common data science libraries (scikit-learn, NumPy, pandas).
- Understanding of data science principles, statistics, and applied mathematics.
- Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills and openness to working in a diverse team.
- French language skills (nice to have).
- Previous experience with computer vision or multi-modal models.
- Basic experience with Git, Linux or High Performance Computing.
- Flexibility to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques and technologies.
