As their Global IT Operations/Networking team expands, they are seeking a new team member – a Network Engineer!
About the role:
The Network Operations Engineers report to the Network Team Lead and primarily handle day-to-day operations and support tasks. You will engage closely with various global and local IT operations groups, application support teams, and development staff worldwide. Additionally, you will regularly collaborate with telecommunications carriers, network gear manufacturers, and other providers. This position emphasizes network infrastructure support and daily operations, while also implementing small projects such as hardware refreshes and network build-outs for new offices.
What you will do:
- Provide level 1 and level 2 support for the network infrastructure on a global scale.
- Maintain, monitor, and support the global company network, including WAN and LAN at data centers, remote offices worldwide, and external clients.
- Troubleshoot network issues and assist other IT groups in resolving problems across different technology areas.
- Perform general network maintenance, including software upgrades and patching of network devices (firewalls, routers, switches, SDWAN, etc.)
- Manage chronic problems to resolution.
- Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Follow established processes, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in the on-call support rotation and be flexible with working hours.
What expertise you will need:
- TCP/IP protocols (TCP, UDP, FTP, GRE, IPsec, etc.)
- OSPF multi-area. • BGP v4 (iBGP and eBGP).
- Cisco routers, branch office to data center grade. • Cisco Switching (Nexus, Catalyst and Meraki)
- VMware Velocloud SDWAN.
- IPsec site-to-site VPNs, and remote access VPNs using Ivanti and Palo Alto Global Protect.
- Firewalling, access lists, protocol inspection.
- Palo Alto firewalls and their administration using Panorama.
- LAN switching, Spanning Tree protocol, VLANs, dot1Q trunking, LACP port-channels, vPC, VSS. • QOS on the LAN and WAN.
- F5 load balancers (F5 Big IP) or other load-balancer platforms.
- Wide area network circuits and services (MetroE, MPLS, etc.)
- Clear understanding and proven experience in implementing network hardware redundancy.
