Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Project Director, this position is responsible for efficiently managing and executing marine and island-based construction projects within approved parameters such as cost, timelines, functionality, safety, and quality, in line with DarGlobal strategies and plans.


The ideal candidate will have previous experience with a reputable main contractor or developer, leading complex building construction works on marine, coastal, or island environments. This includes overseeing the construction of villas, hospitality assets, infrastructure, and ancillary buildings on reclaimed or remote island sites. The candidate must be capable of developing robust action plans, maintaining tight control over challenging site logistics, and evaluating risks unique to marine construction. This individual should also have strong team leadership experience and excellent communication skills.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement project execution plans, including construction timelines, budgets, logistics strategies, and project objectives.
  • Lead on-site construction teams and manage relationships with consultants, marine contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Oversee all marine-related enabling works (shoreline protection, quay walls, temporary marine access, reclamation interfaces), ensuring integration with vertical building works.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, particularly around tidal conditions, marine access, weather exposure, and environmental regulations.
  • Regularly communicate project status, progress, challenges, and mitigation plans to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, marine consultants, and specialist contractors to ensure timely delivery and cost alignment.
  • Monitor project financials, forecast cost-to-complete, and make resource or schedule adjustments when needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with local regulations, environmental requirements, HSE standards, and project specifications.
  • Drive on-time and on-budget delivery while safeguarding quality, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction.


Qualifications, Experiences, Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management of building construction, with at least 3 years on marine or island-based developments (e.g., coastal resorts, reclaimed islands, waterfront villas, or marine infrastructure).
  • Must have previous experience working with a reputable main contractor or developer, preferably in the Middle East, and be familiar with local codes, marine regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Strong understanding of marine logistics, temporary works, coastal conditions, and associated construction risks.
  • Result-oriented, ensuring operational excellence and delivering best outcomes in challenging site environments.
  • Takes active ownership of problems and provides timely, solution-focused responses.
  • Outcome-driven with strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
