Scrum Master

About the role

You support Agile Delivery Teams to deliver and maintain a range of ICT projects. You guide teams through SAFe practices, drive progress, remove obstacles, and support clear communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile ceremonies using SAFe, including daily stand ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide reports and dashboards to leadership on sprint outcomes and progress.
• Support backlog management and prioritisation to align work with agreed deliverables.
• Maintain open communication channels and give visibility on team progress and issues.
• Remove impediments, resolve delivery issues, and manage risks within agreed limits.
• Coordinate dependencies with other Agile Delivery Teams.
• Guide staff on Agile practices and SAFe guidelines.
• Build strong working relationships with business areas, vendors, and partner teams.
• Take on extra tasks as directed by leadership.

Highly desirable criteria

• Tertiary qualifications or certifications in Management or Project Management.
• Experience delivering large ICT transformation projects in government settings.
• Certifications or experience in Agile delivery including SAFe and Scrum.

Desirable criteria

• Experience supporting complex programs that span multiple teams.
• Background in roles that require strong communication and negotiation.
• Experience working in environments with competing priorities and tight timeframes.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master with strong SAFe knowledge in complex programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and adapt to change.
• High integrity when handling sensitive information.
• Skilled in MS Suite, Azure DevOps, Miro or similar tools.
• Ability to prepare reporting and dashboards for leadership.
