What You’ll Do:
Data Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute a company-wide data strategy that makes data a core growth asset for Enery.
- Establish standards for data governance, quality, security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR).
- Design a systematic approach to data collection, processing, and usage with a focus on integrity, availability, and scalability.
- Define data ownership and responsibilities across teams to create accountability.
Data-Driven Business Optimization & Creation
- Identify and co-create new business opportunities where data, AI, and automation generate measurable cash flow.
- Prioritize high-impact use cases that improve decision-making and efficiency.
- Own the data product roadmap, prioritization, and delivery.
- Turn insights into new products, pricing strategies, and revenue streams.
Automation & AI Implementation
- Lead the automation of key processes across finance, operations, and commercial domains with an emphasis on scalability.
- Design, deploy, and operate AI-powered tools (including LLMs) with clear guardrails.
- Stay ahead of AI/automation trends and proactively validate them through pilots.
Technology & Infrastructure Leadership
- Own the design and operation of a modern data infrastructure (cloud, data lake/warehouse, APIs, orchestration).
- Ensure seamless integration of data sources from Finance, Operations, Commercial, and ESG.
- Standardize data cleaning and processing methodologies for reliable reporting and analytics.
Organizational Mindset & Leadership
- Foster a data-driven culture across Enery.
- Lead and grow a team of data engineers and analysts: hiring, mentoring, 1:1s, growth plans.
- Run trainings/workshops on tools, standards, and best practices; maintain a high-quality bar.
- Align data strategy with company goals.
Job Requirements:
- 6+ years in Data Engineering/Analytics, including 2+ years in leadership or end-to-end initiatives.
- Track record in designing and implementing data-driven strategies.
- Experience with digital initiatives that have had a significant, sustainable impact on processes, performance, or results within and beyond their own functional area.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, Python, and R) and in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or equivalent.
- Practical experience with SQL for querying, transforming, and managing data.
- Experience working with LLMs or AI-based tooling.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with the 2010 animated Will Ferrell film, Megamind. Essential.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).

Statutory notice: In accordance with the Austrian collective agreement for employees in information and consulting, the minimum gross monthly salary for this full-time position (40 hours/week) is €3,070. Please note that this is a legal requirement to state, but your actual compensation will be based on your qualifications and professional experience, and we would be happy to discuss it with you personally.
