Our client is undertaking a major digital transformation program focused on delivering end-to-end digitisation of case file services. As part of this initiative, they are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join a multidisciplinary delivery team working on high-profile, large-scale digital products.

About The Role

You will work as part of a collaborative digital product team responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of high-quality front-end solutions. The role focuses on building scalable, user-centric applications that integrate with multiple inter-agency systems.

The position requires on-site attendance at least 3 days per week at Sydney CBD and Parramatta locations, with occasional travel across Greater Sydney and regional NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain front-end applications using ReactJS and TypeScript
  • Build single-page applications (SPA) and progressive web applications (PWA)
  • Design and implement reusable, scalable React components and libraries
  • Apply best-practice component architecture, state management, and accessibility standards
  • Conduct testing, prototyping, and stakeholder reviews to reduce delivery risk
  • Produce detailed design specifications aligned with agreed architectures and standards
  • Identify design options, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend optimal solutions
  • Support post-release activities and continuous improvement across release cycles
  • Collaborate closely with UX designers, business analysts, backend developers, and DevOps teams

Mandatory

Skills & Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Front-End Developer
  • Strong expertise in ReactJS and TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with key React libraries such as:
    • react-dom
    • react-query
    • react-router
    • openapi-typescript-codegen
  • Strong understanding of React Context, including:
    • Designing scalable context providers
    • Creating reusable custom hooks
    • Optimising global state management and performance
  • Experience building reusable component libraries (Storybook experience highly regarded)
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility
  • Strong experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Git/Bitbucket
  • Understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable / Highly Regarded

  • Exposure to AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, Cognito, and Lambda
  • Understanding of API integration patterns and cloud-hosted environments
  • Familiarity with security concepts (IAM roles, OIDC, environment configuration)
  • Experience working in government environments
  • Background in large-scale system integration or enterprise application development
