Software Developer – Elasticsearch Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong Elasticsearch expertise to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a developer from a .NET or Java background who has hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimising Elasticsearch-based solutions.

Elasticsearch is a core technology within our platform, and this role will play a key part in building scalable search, analytics, and data retrieval capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Elasticsearch indices, mappings, and queries
• Build and optimise search, aggregation, and analytics solutions using Elasticsearch
• Integrate Elasticsearch with backend services developed in .NET or Java
• Monitor and tune Elasticsearch performance, scalability, and reliability
• Work with associated tools such as Kibana, Logstash, Beats, or Elastic Stack (ELK)
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and technical standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to search and data indexing

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong, hands-on experience with Elasticsearch (this is essential)
• Experience with the Elastic Stack (ELK), including Kibana and Logstash
• Background in .NET (C#) or Java development
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Understanding of search concepts such as indexing, analyzers, relevance scoring, and aggregations
• Familiarity with performance tuning and scaling Elasticsearch clusters
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Desirable Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability solutions
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
