KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect, deploy, and manage large-scale IBM POWER SERVERS / AIX and Linux environments

Perform complex OS migrations, SP / TL upgrades,

VIOS upgrades, backups, and dual-VIOS redundancy.

Advanced performance tuning (CPU, memory, I/O, kernel parameters)

Deep expertise in LVM, filesystem tuning, multipathing (MPIO)

Implement OS hardening, RBAC, sudo policies, and system auditing.

Shared adapter configuration Vlan tagging

HMC Backup / LPAR configuration and profile backup restore

PowerVM Live Partition Mobility configuration and validation migration

Design and enforce enterprise OS standards, baselines, and hardening

Advanced administration of IBM PowerVM, HMC, VIOS, LPARs, Shared Storage Pools

Conduct regular AIX and Redhat Linux system updates, upgrade kernel and apply patches,

Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability

Design and manage LPAR capacity planning, CPU/memory allocation, and dynamic resource adjustments (DLPAR)

Troubleshoot OS-level issues and perform root cause analysis

Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (ksh, bash, Python)

Manage enterprise storage systems (IBM, NetApp, EMC)

Provision, allocate, and decommission storage (SAN, NAS)

Configure and maintain SAN zoning and LUN masking

Manage storage replication, snapshots, and backups

Perform storage capacity planning and performance tuning

Support storage for databases, applications, and virtualization platforms

Configure and maintain HA solutions (PowerHA,GPFS)

Configure and maintain disaster recovery solutions using replication technologies

Support backup and recovery OS level (mksysb, Altclone ,NIM)

Redhat linux and Ubuntu version and kernal upgrade

Diagnose and resolve complex OS and kernel-level issues

Manage and configuration of Spectrum control

IBM Flash storage firmware / drive code upgrade

Brocade SAN Zoning / config backup and firmware upgrade

Hands-on experience with storage vendors such as Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM,

Understanding of RAID, snapshots, replication, and tiered storage

Install, configure LPAR2RRD, STOR2RRD monitoring clients

Strong understanding of VMware architecture, ESXi hosts

Install and manage IBM Flex Chassis / firmware and patches upgrade

Education

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

Experience

8 to 10 years

AIX Certified System administrator / Redhat Certified System administrator /IBM Flash Storage System Certified / Brocade SAN certified
