Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing new software development, providing production support, enhancements, bug fixes for the tools and templates supporting one or more programs, projects, or teams.
  • Responsible for understanding enough of the business processes and the goals/deliverables of each step to proactively come up with improvement opportunities that can be implemented by changing the existing tools/templates or by developing new tools/templates within the constraints of the technology.
  • Responsible for following the full SDLC process as part of making any technical changes to the existing tools and templates or as part of developing new tools and templates.
  • Responsible for providing timely support for the members of one or more programs, such as Solution Architects, Technical Program Managers, Scrum Masters, and Sr. Managers across one or more teams. Support requests may be informal via Microsoft Teams Chat or more formal via JIRA Stories/Tasks.
  • Responsible for providing any set of pre-defined standard support requests, such as “bug fix” or “enhancements to existing feature” or “develop new feature,” and the support request may include various types of ad-hoc requests such as testing existing components, deploying code using Patterns and Paved Road templates, generating test cases, creating How-To’s documentation, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experienced with high levels of proficiency in developing custom applications, dashboards, reports, etc., in using technologies/tools such as Python, AWS, Terraform, Java, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Familiarity with developing custom applications using different types of integration patterns and security protocols with the above-mentioned technologies and tools.
  • Experienced enough to be willing and able to learn new technologies as needed, based on the needs of the different projects, as well as based on changing technical directions for existing systems.
  • Experienced with high levels of proficiency in reverse engineering and documenting the current design of custom applications, dashboards, reports, etc., with technologies such as those mentioned above.
  • Experienced with high levels of proficiency in using visual diagramming tools such as Lucid, Visio, etc. to create technical designs of the software being maintained/developed.
  • Must have very good technical/non-technical communication and presentation skills to present and drive consensus among technical and non-technical audiences at the right level of detail.
  • Experienced with high levels of proficiency to explain technical design and risks/issues to both technical and non-technical audiences; potentially using informal/verbal communications via Microsoft Teams Chat or via more formal presentations.
  • Responsible for escalating technical and project risks/issues to the project Scrum Master & company employees, including Senior Managers as needed & promptly to help avoid problems.
  • Must be experienced enough with time management, priorities, & context switching to simultaneously work on different projects while identifying and highlighting project risks/issues that impact the quality of software being developed/maintaine,d as well as project timelines across multiple projects.
  • Must be experienced enough to drive conversations with business and technical audiences regarding functional/technical features, enhancements, and bugs that are in scope of multiple programs/projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in OP monthly team meetings and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
