Tehcnical Project Manager

Initially 3/6 months daily rate contract

Remote (Candidates must be based in Ireland)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a development team and manage the transition from a legacy Visual Basic environment to a modern C#/.NET technology stack. The role requires strong technical understanding, hands-on project delivery experience, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders during a complex system modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development projects focused on migrating legacy VB applications to C#/.NET
• Plan, track, and deliver project milestones, timelines, and budgets
• Act as the primary liaison between developers, technical leadership, and business stakeholders
• Support architecture and design discussions to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions
• Identify risks and dependencies related to legacy system modernization and manage mitigation plans
• Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices, coding standards, and quality controls
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role in software development
• Strong understanding of C#, .NET/.NET Core, and legacy Visual Basic environments
• Experience managing application modernization or technology migration projects
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience managing distributed or U.S.-based development teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in software development or engineering
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS)
• PMP, Scrum Master, or similar certification
